SPY OPTIC WELCOMES TUCKER HIBBERT TO THE TEAM


The world’s best all-around MX/SX/Snocross racer will view the AMA Supercross, MX Nationals, WPSA Snocross Series and Winter X Games tracks through Spy goggles

CARLSBAD, Calif., (Nov. 23, 2007) – Spy Optic announced today that it has signed extreme powersports legend Tucker Hibbert – the world’s top two-sport (dirt bikes/snowmobiles) star – to its substantial list of athletes running the new line of Spy Optic snow and MX goggles, sunglasses and casual wear.

Hibbert, who begins his quest for another World PowerSports Association (WPSA) Snowmobile Tour title this weekend in Duluth, Minn., is pumped to have Spy Optic on board for the upcoming competition season.

Spy Optic’s Andrew Short & Josh Grant Lead Team USA Bercy Supercross Victory

But it’s company co-founder Jeremy “Showtime” McGrath that whips the Euros into a frenzy!

CARLSBAD, Calif., (Nov. 12, 2007) – Forget for a second of how Spy Optic’s talented team of supercross racers dominated the recent French Bercy Supercross, winning the title for Team USA (Andrew Short & Josh Grant) and taking the first night overall win (Grant Langston). What the passionate European fans came to see at Paris’ Palais-Omnisport was the guy who put the term “Super” in supercross, the sport’s all-time winningest racer (by a mile) and co-founder of Spy Optic, Jeremy “Showtime” McGrath.

Possibly the last time European fans will get to see McGrath race supercross outside the United States, the true “King” of Bercy didn’t disappoint, hanging with aggro racers a decade younger than himself and finishing 5th on Friday night, then pulling the holeshot to highlight Saturday’s main event. McGrath was pumped with the reception, but had to bail on Sunday’s race in order to hook up with his Baja 1,000 team.

“I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but knew I’d have to shake the rust off quickly with that high-powered field Bercy draws,” said McGrath. “The event was a blast. Spy was well-represented and the warm reception I got from the fans made the whole trip worthwhile. Congrats to Chad (Reed) on winning and my Spy teammates, Shorty and Grant, for helping Team USA bring the team title home.”

Railing his way to victory on the opening night behind those Spy Optic Alloy goggles was Langston – a two time “King of Bercy” champion. The hottest racer in the world the last several months, Langston really set the stage in terms of who’s the AMA Supercross Series’ preseason top three favorites are with his 2nd place performance at Bercy.

“Bercy’s a blast. The promoters pull out all the stops to make the event as entertaining as possible for the fans,” said Langston, who went 1-2-2 to lead the Rest of the World team at Bercy.

Topping the charts for No. 1 Team USA were Spy Optic’s Short and Grant. The young Americans were 3rd and 4th overall, respectively, behind Reed and Langston.
