Spy Team Rider, Josh Grant, Wins High Point MX National
May 27th, 2007: The Spy Optic sponsored riders had a tremendous weekend at the second round of the AMA/Toyota Motocross Nationals in Mt. Morris, PA.
Josh Grant earned his first AMA/Toyota Motocross Lites win of the 2007 season with 1-3 moto finishes while Jake Weimer snagged the seventh overall spot with 5-7 moto finishes. Billy Laninovich injured his ankle in the first moto and finished a disappointing 36th. For the second moto, Billy limped his way to the starting line and fought his way to 12th place after a poor start.
Jason Lawrence also showed great speed as well while battling with Ryan Villopoto in moto one for second place. At the end of the day, Lawrence’s 3-6 moto finishes placed him fifth overall.
“It’s a fun track” is exactly what Josh told me Saturday after the second practice. From then on, I could tell it was going to be a good weekend for him, especially after watching him jump things on the track that only a few people were doing all weekend long.
Way to go Josh!
